Cincinnati Public Schools' (CPS) Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2019, was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest award presented for state and local government financial reporting.
"It's an honor to accept the award on behalf of the Treasurer's department. Truly, this award exemplifies the work of all our employees and their commitment to excellent financial recording and reporting," said Treasurer Jennifer Wagner.
This marks the 19th consecutive year that CPS has received the Certificate of Achievement.
"Such a record reflects the professionalism and commitment of numerous individuals as well as many hours of hard work. It also reflects a high degree of dedication and leadership on the part of Treasurer Jennifer Wagner and her staff," said Stacey L. Russell, Ohio Representative to the GFOA.
To be awarded a Certificate of Achievement, a government entity must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized report that meets program standards. The CAFR must satisfy both generally accepted accounting principles and applicable legal requirements.
