AMIS Mission

The mission of the Academy of Multilingual Immersion Studies is to teach understanding and respect for racial, cultural, and linguistic diversity via a model of immersion program designed for students to acquire other languages, achieve high academic standards, and acknowledge the dignity of each individual.

In an American society, which is growing more dependent internationally with respect to trade and commerce, the practical career applications of learning other languages are obvious. Therefore, via the immersion program, AMIS will:

1. develop an appreciation for ethnic diversity,

2. celebrate language and culture

3. prepare students to live harmoniously in a multilingual society

4. develop literacy in English and French and/or Spanish

5. empower students to become creative, confident, critical thinkers

6. enhance students' marketable skills to function effectively and responsibly in an international society
